In Ascain, a Labourd commune on the Nivelle river close to the campsite, which is part of the Bayonne urban area, you’ll enjoy wandering through the narrow streets and discovering on foot the 6 sites listed as “historic monuments“, including the Roman bridge built in the 5th century. You can also admire the medieval church of Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption and the Serres chapel. From our campsite near Ascain you’re only an 8-minute drive from the village, so there’s no excuse not to take a trip!

Ascain is a commune that will appeal in particular to nature lovers looking for unspoilt, authentic places to spend their vacations. The village’s geographical location offers unobstructed views of the Rhune, the Pyrenees and the beaches. La Rhune is close to the village and easily accessible thanks to its little train, which will delight children.
