Cédric, our sports instructor and former Alpine hunter, offers his services as a guide. Passionate about beautiful landscapes, he knows all the best spots in the Basque Country. Come and discover the joys of walking in the open air, in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, with hikes along various trails in the Basque Country.

Hikes for all levels
Whether you’re an expert hiker, a novice, a nature lover or just want to have a great time, our hikes are made for you.
No technical level is required, just the pleasure of discovery and the joy of sharing good times. Children and older riders are welcome to join in the fun – we cater for all levels!
For the ride to run smoothly, each person must be equipped with :
- Closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops or other slaps).
- Cap or hat
- Sunglasses (recommended)
- A bottle of water
Our walks
Places on walking tours are limited to 15 people.
1 – Family hike to Col d’Ibardin via Mandale then around Lake Xoldokogaina / Departure from campsite 9am 10/15 min drive to start / 9km 550m ascent + / 2h30 – 3h00. This tour is also available as a sunset excursion in small groups.
2 – Family hike to the village of Zuggaramurdi (witches’ village)/ Departure from campsite 9:00 am 30/40 min drive to start at Sare caves / 7 km 150 ascent + / approx. 2:00 am / possibility of lunch on reservation at Venta Antton at end of hike
3 – Family hike to the Suhalmendi summit (301m) educational path from Quintoa to footprints (black pie bred in the open air) / Departure 9:00 am from the campsite to the St Ignace pass 15/20 min to park in the dirt parking lot behind the Pullman restaurant / 7 km 220 ascent + / approx. 2:00 am

4 – Electric bike ride to Ascain via the Xara Baïta heights / Departure from campsite with electric bike initiation / 18 km 250 ascent + / approx. 2h00

La Rhune
Do you love hiking and want to discover the most beautiful sites in the Basque country during your stay? Take one of the paths leading to the summit of La Rhune. The trail from the village of Olhette is suitable for both occasional and more experienced walkers.

Coastal path
This pretty hike follows the coastal path along the Basque coast between Hendaye and Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Surrounded by mountains and sea, you’ll discover the magnificent landscapes of the Basque coast. The difference in altitude is slight and the trail is suitable for all walkers, making it a great place for a stroll.

Kakuetta Gorge
If you’re looking for a family outing close to the Ibardin campsite in a fabulous natural setting, head for the Kakuetta gorges, which are easily accessible. The only downside: you’ll need to drive for two hours to get there, and the site isn’t open to the public all year round.

Pass hikes
A challenging circular hike for good walkers who want to reach the summits of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques.

Distance from campsite: 14 km
Holzarté footbridge
A beautiful loop that takes walkers through the forest, between waterfalls and streams. Ideal for nature vacations in the Basque Country. If you find this walk too strenuous (over 800 m ascent), you can turn back at the footbridge.
