On which beach in the Basque Country can you practice your nautical activities?

Although you’ll enjoy swimming and diving in the Ibardin campsite pool, we invite you to add a touch of excitement and thr ills with some water sports on the beaches of the Basque coast. Ciboure ‘s Socoa beach is ideal for an introductory course in stand-up paddling, a popular discipline that combines elements of surfing and kayaking.

The ocean is rather calm here, so children and beginners alike can enjoy a safe ride. For waterskiing and your first surf, kitesurf and windsurf lessons, turn to the beaches of Anglet (Marinella, Corsaires) and those north of Saint-Jean-de-Luz (Maiarko, Lafitenia).

The Côte des Basques beach in Biarritz is reserved for experienced surfers, due to its rollers and rocks, which require good control. Biarritz’s Grande Plage and Guéthary’s Senix beach are excellent playgrounds for bodyboarding. Would you like to head out to sea for an excursion or a fishing trip? Take your first dive? At the port of Sokoburu in Hendaye, you’ll find several boats and diving schools.
